The Roofing Process

Emergency Response
METAL ROOFING SYSTEMS
When you know it’s time to replace your roof, one of the biggest questions is deciding what type of roof to put on your home. The easiest way to decide if you are a good candidate for a new metal roof or a combination roof of metal with another product is to ask yourself these simple questions. How long do you want the roof to last before a repair or replacement will be needed? Are there trees creating a shadow over the roof that makes it more susceptible to mold? What about curbside appeal and increasing your value for bragging rights or for when you plan to sell it and move someplace smaller after the kids are off to college? Most importantly, how much does a metal roof cost and can I fit it in my budget?
If any of these are questions that you are considering when getting a new roof, here’s some of the reasons why a metal roof in Florida might be right for you!
THE STRONGEST, LONGEST LASTING ROOF IN FLORIDA
Metal roofs are most often the strongest and longest lasting roofs on the market! They are significantly less likely to sustain damage from high winds, hurricanes, tropical storms and hail than tile or shingle. This means with the proper product and superior installation, you can be enjoying a maintenance free roof years longer than other homes with tile or shingle on their roof. A new metal roof in Florida is most likely going to be a onetime investment that can outlive you.
BEAUTIFY AND PROPERTY VALUE INCREASE!
Metal roofing comes in a variety of colors and even textures to make it look like wooden shingles or high end tile! No matter the color, style or texture you are looking to find, there is a pretty good chance that you will find exactly what you are looking for! Because of the durability, low maintenance and beauty, adding metal roofing, even in accent areas such as porches or windows immediately increases your home value and asking price.
KISS ROOF CLEANING GOODBYE!
In Florida, we live in an ideal place for explosive algae growth due to humidity coupled with a warm climate and shade from our beautiful palms and trees. We are one of the few states where manufacturers created special shingles called AR Shingles for Algae Resistant Shingles to help with withstand the algae that turns shingles black from algae growth in the porous areas for 10 years. Metal roofs are not porous, and with proper installation and a quality product you should never have to be concerned with staining of your roof from algae growth.
HOW MUCH WOULD A METAL ROOF COST ME?
The cost for a metal roof depends on the type and texture (remember wood shingle look, tile look, lots of options to choose from, etc.?) as well as the pitch and size of your roof. If you want to keep your budget low, and still improve the durability, protection from algae, beauty and home value, incorporate it in accent areas or in areas that may need more protection such as a large tree that hangs over a portion of your home. Our metal roof department are specialist in doing multi-product roofs which is why more builders use us for these projects than anyone else in Florida. Also, keep in mind that Alliance offers multiple options that you and your estimating specialist can talk about during your free estimate.
SHINGLE ROOFING SYSTEMS
Shingle Roofing System is another one of the most popular type of roofing for residential homes. On average, three out of every five homes are roofed with shingles. They are manufactured in the widest variety of colors, shapes and textures to meet virtually any architectural design effectively and affordably.
Benefits of Shingle Roofing System
- Low Maintenance
- Fire and Wind Resistant
Once installed, a Shingle Roofing System requires virtually no regularly scheduled maintenance as is required with other roofing systems. Alliance always recommends minimal upkeep – however, shingles are easily repaired if damaged. Individual shingles can be replaced if need be without having to replace the entire field of the roof.
Some types of shingles are designed to be fire and wind resistant. Depending on the composition, a Shingle Roof System is manufactured to meet certain flammability standards and has been tested under extreme wind conditions.

TPO ROOFING SYSTEM
Thermoplastic Polyolefin [TPO] is now the most preferred single-ply commercial roofing membrane in the U.S providing long-term durability and other advantages. These roofing systems are the most environmentally friendly of the single-ply systems, and they produce no dioxins or chlorine.
Advantages
- Eco-Friendly
- Saves You Money
TPO is extremely eco-friendly. The white color composition reflects heat and allows for cooler and more consistent temperature control. This feature results in reduction in energy costs when companies use less electricity and/or gas to run their air conditioning systems.
TPO systems are engineered to provide quality and dependable performance at a very cost-effective price. In warmer climates (such as Florida) TPO roofing systems have shown to last longer than almost all of flat roof systems, saving companies money in maintenance and restoration costs.
PVC ROOFING SYSTEM
Polyvinyl Chloride [PVC] roofing or vinyl roofing is a type of flexible membrane used for covering and protecting flat roofing, usually for industrial or commercial roofing projects. PVC is incredibly strong and durable and resistant to both fire and water. It has a long lifespan, up to 30 years with proper care and maintenance. It’s also a very affordable choice for commercial and industrial roofing and brings additional savings in energy costs as its highly-reflective white surface is very efficient in combating the effects of the sun and keeping the inside of a building cool in warmer climates.
MODIFIED ROOFING SYSTEM
Modified Bitumen [MB] roofing is an asphalt-based, close cousin of the Built-up-Roof (BUR) designed for buildings with low-slope or “flat” roof structures. Engineered modified bitumen roofing membranes originated in Europe in the mid 1960’s and have been used successfully in the United States and Canada since approximately 1975. Modified Bitumen Roofing Systems are designed to withstand harsh exposure to extreme environmental elements. With five layers of protection, it’s one of the most trusted flat roofing systems used in the industry today.
The framework for Modified Bitumen Roofing Systems is a five-layer combination of roofing components.
- Insulation – Used to provide “R” value, or thermal resistance, for temperature stability of the roof system. Modified Base Sheets or Plies.
- Modified Bitumen Membranes – Factory fabricated sheet membrane composed of co-polymer reinforced with polyester or fiberglas
- Adhesive – Waterproofing material with a bonding agent applied either hot or cold
- Surfacing – Provides UV protection and weathering resistance
Benefits of Modified Bitumen Roofing
- Proven track record of performance
- Superior waterproofing characteristics
- Broad range of application methods
- Wide choice of top-surfacing, including “Cool Roofing” options
- With insulation, provides an even better-performing building component
- High tensile-strength
- Available as part of a fire, wind, and/or hail rated roofing system
- Competitive life-cycle cost
- Available with flame-free and VOC-free installation
- Long-term warranties are available with many MB systems
ROOF COATING SYSTEM
Coatings are available in various product forms, but they all offer the same advantages over a full re-roofing: Lower cost and easy application, which means very little disruption for a business owner. The flat roof coatings available from Cross Roofing can be applied to metal, asphalt built-up, modified bitumen, and single-ply roofs.
Flat-roofed buildings are prevalent in Florida because the construction of them is simply easier than that of any type of sloped roof. Think about it: The design of a flat-roof structure doesn’t need any advanced construction support. Thus flat roofs also are cheaper to build. They also are much safer to access and, thus, maintain. They are the do-it-all generic roof, and that’s why there are so many, especially on businesses.
However, these roofs can be difficult to maintain in the sense that there is often nowhere for rain water to go. Standing water or Ponding water is the No. 1 problem for flat roofs, and leaks generally will become a problem for any type of flat-roof surface if the roof is not properly maintained. In addition, the sun beats down on the entirety of a flat roof, not just portions like on a sloped roof.
Flat roof coatings are the economical solution for flat-roof owners who don’t have the budget or time for a complete re-roofing. If you are the owner of, say, an apartment complex or warehouse with a flat roof, the challenges in working around a re-roofing can be a nightmare with tenants and workers. Flat roof coatings can be applied in just a few hours, and customers will enjoy all the benefits of modern science in a roof.
The flat roof coatings we offer will stop rust on those metal roofs and leaks on every type of roof. It’s a seamless, lightweight, weatherproofing coat that the water can’t penetrate. And it’s highly reflective, meaning it will keep the sun’s ultraviolet rays away from the roof, thus acting as a barrier against potential cracking or splintering (it expands and contracts with the temperature) as well as helping to lower the temperature of the building. Our white flat roof coatings meet the Energy Star guidelines for energy efficiency. That’s money back in the customers’ pockets because of lower cooling bills and less stress on their HVAC systems.

SERVICE AFTER THE SALE
We hear horror stories all the time about roofing contractors who install a roof and cash the check, but when an issue arises they are nowhere to be found. Our integrity and profound belief in service after the sale means that you will never face this problem. We are not perfect, but should an issue arise, we will be there to make it right, Hence, our slogan “We Will be here tomorrow to stand behind the work we do Today” we truly live by that! This is just another reason Alliance Group is one of the best in the industry.
BEYOND THE WARRANTY
Most roofing material manufacturers are moving to a lifetime warranty on their products. While we applaud the manufacturer’s desire to give the customer greater peace of mind, if the materials are not installed correctly, the warranty will do you no good. It is important that you thoroughly check out any roofer, and make certain that you are comfortable with his or her ability to handle your project properly. We highly recommend hiring a roofing contractor who has many years of experience and a long list of satisfied customers. We will be happy to show you a list of references, and we look forward to adding your name to that list.

Alliance Group applied a Silicone Roof Coating on our Miami Building. The quality of work was great, as expected and the workers showed up when scheduled. Everything was done on time and on budget without hassle. Weather due to no fault of the contractor caused a slight delay but everything was done right and I am happy with my new roof. Having a leaky roof was a huge concern with my operation but getting it sealed and coated reliefs the concerns I've had coming into the rainy season.

When we needed them in a pinch, Alliance delivered! We had water coming in our office during a recent storm. They sent over a roof tech (Brandon) who came within 1 hour to the repair our problem. The leak was fixed. We recently got the roof replaced by Alliance Group and they did a outstanding job. When they replaced the roof, they even did some extra work cleaning out our gutter system at no additional cost. We will use them again, definitely!

Alliance was fantastic to work with. They were on time, and did exactly what they said they would do. The price they quoted was very fair and they were very knowledgeable about options. Dylan was easy to get in contact with and the crew showed up on time and worked hard all day. They cleaned up beautifully; it looked like they were never here, except for the beautiful new metal roof on my house! I happily recommend them to anyone.
